Pallet Ink Rack

Chasen BoswellComment

As I am working in an area I am constantly trying to figure out ways to be more efficient and organized. I created a small rack for my acrylic inks and bamboo brushes. I am planning to add a side section that will hold my sheets of rice paper as well. Though after buying more inks today I realized I may need to update the size of the rack soon. Probably just start a new one!

Abstract Bronze Sculpture

Chasen BoswellComment

Last Friday ( Dec 14th)  My Bronze Class at Cal State Northridge had its last day of pouring bronze. Most of the class had recently finished their ceramic shell molds. After preheating the molds to 1500degrees F we pulled the hot shells out of the kiln and buried them in the sand pit. Then poured molten bronze into the molds, waited a few hours and broke the shells of our bronze sculptures.

I was on the second pour team as the "dead man" whom stabilizes one side of the crucible during the pour.

This is my abstract bronze piece, from my ceramic shell. I still need to add pitina, and polish some areas , then seal with a clear coat. Also I am soon ordering a marble base.

Bronze Ceramic Shell Mold

Chasen BoswellComment

Just finished dipping my ceramic shell in slurry and Silica sand. We burn the casts out today and are pouring the clay molds on Friday the 7th. Interested to see how this form turns out, I used styrofoam which i cut into a cylinder and made one continuous piece. From this piece I weaved it within itself and connected the ends. The result should be an abstract form of twisting bronze that is one continual piece.

Shipping Pallet Stain Rack

Chasen BoswellComment

As I spent weeks working on pallet furniture. I realized that I needed a rack to store all my woodstains, sand paper, gloves, mask, wood glue and my other pallet recycling materials . I cut up an extra pallet to make a standing rack for all these items.
